1. Every week children can pick up a reading log either at the circulation desk or in the children's department.
2. Each week the color of the reading log changes, to correspond with a new week.
3. Children will read for 20 minutes all week and have a parent or guardian sign off that they did their reading.
4. When they come back the following week, children with a signed reading log will receive a prize!
Children in Grades 3-5 can use a weekly reading log, or ask for the 'Tween' reading log. The tween reading log requires children to record the number of pages they have read each week as opposed to minutes read. If a tween reads at least 75 pages in a week they can bring back their log and receive a prize. Tweens can discuss the book(s) they are reading with one another and/or staff at the weekly tween programs.
The tween programs for Harnett County Library are held on Tuesdays at 4 pm. If you need information regarding these programs please give us a call or visit our website.
Happy Reading!
