Summer Reading Log Information

Below you will find information regarding our reading logs this summer!

1.  Every week children can pick up a reading log either at the circulation desk or in the children's department.

2.  Each week the color of the reading log changes, to correspond with a new week.

3.  Children will read for 20 minutes all week and have a parent or guardian sign off that they did their reading.

4.  When they come back the following week, children with a signed reading log will receive a prize!

Children in Grades 3-5 can use a weekly reading log, or ask for the 'Tween' reading log.  The tween reading log requires children to record the number of pages they have read each week as opposed to minutes read. If a tween reads at least 75 pages in a week they can bring back their log and receive a prize.  Tweens can discuss the book(s) they are reading with one another and/or staff at the weekly tween programs.

The tween programs for Harnett County Library are held on Tuesdays at 4 pm.  If you need information regarding these programs please give us a call or visit our website.

Happy Reading!

Throwback Throwdown-Video Game Tournament

What is this all about?
The Throwback Throw Down is a retro video gaming tournament. We use old school systems and classic games to duke it out for bragging rights and to determine a top champion. This program is open to teens in Harnett County only. Participants must be ages 13-18 to attend and compete.

So when is this super awesome event?
So glad you asked. It will take place on Saturday, June 21st from 10am-2pm.

So is this going to be at the Harnett County Public Library in Lillington?
Actually no. This year the video tournament will be held at the Anderson Creek Public Library?

Where is that?
Just click here to find out.

I'll be there! And I'm bringing my friends with me!!!
That's great! But wait. You must register first. Registration is required.

Lego Club

This Saturday, March 8th at 11 am we will be starting our Lego Club!  The club is open to children in grades K-5.  Each week we will have a theme, and then children can design a creation of their own based on that theme.  We hope to see you there!
